Meet Brent

Brent Comstock is a proud Southeast Nebraska native, nationally recognized entrepreneur and business owner and lifelong Cornhusker fan.

He is the founder and CEO of BCom, a Lincoln-based advertising and media agency known around the country for its work with purpose driven companies, campaigns and causes. In Nebraska, BCom has worked with rural health organizations, broadband expansion and economic development organizations to bring more opportunities to rural communities. Nationally, BCom has played a key role in helping national organizations, Fortune 500 companies and brands tell their stories online. Brent leads BCom’s team of strategists and creative professionals who have raised over $100 million online for nonprofits and campaigns in the last 10 years.

Brent’s work has been featured in Forbes, Inc. Magazine, and on the TEDx stage. He was also named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree for his leadership in business and technology.

Growing up in Auburn as the son of a plumber and a special education teacher, Brent learned early that grit and strong community ties open doors.

Like many Nebraska families, Brent’s decision to attend college was one of aspiration and, above all, affordability. He was awarded a full scholarship through the highly competitive Robertson Scholars Leadership Program — which brought him to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with additional study at Duke University (while still cheering for UNC basketball). As he built his career across the United States and abroad, Brent remained connected to the Good Life — recruiting dozens of University of Nebraska students and alumni to build his company and investing in the next generation of leaders.

That work has earned recognition at the state and national level. In 2016, Brent was awarded a Congressional Honor by the U.S. House of Representatives for economic development and job creation in Nebraska.

As a donor to the University of Nebraska and a member of the Nebraska Athletics Leadership Society, Brent directly supports opportunities for Nebraska students, faculty and athletes by investing in the traditions that bring the entire state together.

From rural Nemaha County, to Chapel Hill, to Lincoln, Brent believes in serving the communities he calls home. That commitment is reflected in his broad record of service.

  • Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools
  • Nebraska State Historical Foundation Board of Trustees
  • Nemaha County Future Fund (An affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation)
  • Communications Committee, University of North Carolina Institute for Arts and Humanities
  • Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC Chapel Hill Board
  • (Former) Nebraskans for the Arts Board
  • (Former) University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Board of Visitors

Brent’s life is grounded in the same principles that define his leadership.
Faith. Family. Community.

He is a regular attendee of Saint Paul United Methodist Church and a proud uncle to three (soon to be four) nieces and nephews. He enjoys rowing, running, traveling and playing piano. And as any Husker fan would agree, the best weekends are spent cheering on Nebraska.

In business, in service and in the stands, Brent is dedicated to advancing Nebraska’s institutions and supporting the people who make them strong.
