A Note to All Nebraskans:
A new voice championing Nebraska's tradition, purpose and progress.
I’m a proud Southeast Nebraska native — the son of a plumber and a former special education teacher — and I’ve always believed in the power of grit, community and possibility.
Now, I’m running for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents to bring a forward-looking, results-driven voice to the table.
I was fortunate to earn a full-ride scholarship to attend UNC-Chapel Hill, an opportunity that lifted a major financial burden and opened doors I never imagined. That experience shaped my future, but no matter where I went, the Cornhusker State was home. I’m running for office because I want to open life-changing doors like that for students at the University of Nebraska.
As a business founder and CEO, I’ve spent the last decade helping causes and companies scale their impact. We’ve delivered impactful results for clients, earned national recognition and recruited dozens of University of Nebraska students and alumni along the way.
This race isn’t about politics. It’s about protecting and strengthening the University with the same energy that drives Nebraska values. Hard work for a higher purpose.
Together,

Ready to Lead
On Day One
The University of Nebraska needs Regents who bring real-world experience, balanced decision-making, and forward-thinking leadership to every challenge. Here’s how Brent is ready to deliver:
Regent Priorities
Proven Leadership
Regent Priorities
Affordability in the midst of economic uncertainty
Proven Leadership
To address the University’s budget challenges in the coming decade, practical solutions are needed, which preserve successful programs and focus spending where it has the greatest impact, always keeping students and faculty at the center.
Ensuring the University remains affordable for all young Nebraskans requires both strategic cost reductions and the pursuit of new revenue streams and partnerships to expand scholarships and supplemental funding for future state leaders. With personal experience as a recipient of a privately endowed scholarship at a public university, and leadership roles on education boards such as the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools, the UNC Board of Visitors, and the Institute for Arts and Humanities, Brent understands the complex, collaborative work required to make higher education both accessible and sustainable.
Regent Priorities
Standards of excellence that recruit and retain the next generation
Proven Leadership
Raising the bar at the University raises the bar for Nebraska. When the University thrives, so does the state’s economy, reputation, and appeal.
Just as we recruit top athletes, we should recruit outstanding students and faculty across all fields. Excellence boosts enrollment, improves national rankings, and earns key accreditations.
Brent understands this firsthand. As a business owner for more than 10 years who has built a team and a company here in Nebraska, he knows how critical it is to attract and retain top talent. The University plays a central role in that pipeline. Like any successful organization, Nebraska must stay competitive to grow. When we do, we reduce brain drain and make our state a place where more people want to build their future.
Regent Priorities
Innovative ideas that get results
Proven Leadership
Universities are hubs of innovation, where new ideas take shape across academics, athletics, the arts and medical research. In athletics, the rise of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) has transformed the collegiate landscape, giving student-athletes new opportunities to grow and succeed. From cutting-edge research to creative expression and medical breakthroughs, universities bring together talent and resources to help shape a better future for everyone.
Brent has spent over a decade navigating complex challenges and launching new ideas across geographies, industries, and generations. He understands that real innovation happens through deliberate collaboration and smart strategy. The University of Nebraska must be ready to lead with the same mindset. Staying competitive in a changing world means embracing bold ideas and executing them with focus.
Trusted by Nebraskans who Know what it Takes
Brent is proud to have the support of respected leaders, educators, business executives and community members who believe in a strong and innovative University system. This team is not about left or right. It’s about building a better future for Nebraska.

Brent has helped put Lincoln on the map, not just as a nationally respected entrepreneur, but as a community builder who invests in people and place,” said Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. “He’s played a key role in shaping Lincoln’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem, creating jobs, mentoring young talent, and bringing new energy to the Haymarket and beyond. Brent understands that the success of the University and the success of Lincoln are deeply connected. He brings people together—across politics, industries, and generations—to focus on what really matters: education, opportunity, and progress. He’s exactly the kind of Regent we need right now.

Brent is a great example of how strong local roots and global perspective can come together to drive real impact. He’s built a nationally respected business from right here in Nebraska, while staying deeply connected to the people and communities that shaped him. Brent understands that the University of Nebraska is not only a world-class institution, but also a vital economic engine for our state. His ability to work across sectors, and across the aisle, makes him exactly the kind of Regent we need to lead with vision, integrity, and purpose. I’m proud to support his candidacy.
