Priorities
Brent Comstock is a proud native of rural Southeast Nebraska — the son of a plumber and a public school teacher — and a lifelong believer in the power of grit, community, and possibility. From small-town roots in Auburn to national business success and now a candidate for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, Brent’s journey has been anything but conventional — and that’s exactly why he’s running.
As the founder and CEO of BCom, a nationally recognized outcomes agency based in Lincoln’s Haymarket, Brent has spent the last decade helping causes, campaigns, and companies scale their impact. Under his leadership, BCom has raised over $100 million online for nonprofits and political campaigns, advised celebrities and elected officials, and earned repeated recognition from Forbes, Inc. Magazine, TEDx, and more. BCom is consistently ranked among the fastest-growing companies in the Midwest and has helped shape some of the most unique and challenging elections of our time.
But before all that, Brent was a scholarship student who weighed his dream of attending the University of Nebraska against the financial realities of a middle-class family. Ultimately, he accepted a full-ride scholarship to the Robertson Scholars Program, earning degrees from both UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University. And while his college years took him across the country, Nebraska always called him back.
Returning home, Brent grew BCom from a rural IT shop into a national consultancy, all while planting roots in Lincoln’s downtown. He’s hired dozens of University students and alumni, experienced the pulse of game days at Pinnacle Bank Arena, and seen first-hand how the University drives innovation, industry, and culture in our state.
That’s why he’s running for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents — not to score political points or build a stepping stone to the next office, but to protect and elevate the institution that anchors Nebraska’s future.
As Nebraska faces growing challenges — from budget shortfalls to tuition pressures to a changing higher education landscape — Brent brings a forward-looking, results-driven approach shaped by his work with major institutions, global brands, and public figures. His path as an entrepreneur has been rooted in the same Nebraska values he learned growing up: work hard, think big, and never forget where you come from.
Brent believes that what’s good for the University is good for the city, good for the state, and good for every student — from the aspiring small-town graduate to the world-class researcher.
Because the future of the University of Nebraska isn’t just about preserving what’s been — it’s about building what’s next.
